3, 2, 1, HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATASHA ! yells out all her friends, at Natasha's 16th birthday party ! This party has been something Natasha has been waiting for her whole life. Natasha's friends set her up to be on the new hit- reality t.v show called "my super sweet 16". Its about theses 16 year olds, who have big extravagent killer birthday bashes. But the downside to this is Natasha was known for her "pickyiness". So she screamed out "THIS IS THE MOST ORNERY CAKE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE" becasue it was full of unicorns and horses, things she used to love when she was a little girl. The theme to her party was "back in the days" so it was mainly set on things she used to love and do when she was a kid. She pulled her mom, 3 sisters and aunt aside and told them, " impersonally, or nothing but I HATE THE THEME OF MY PARTY, how could you do this to me and my sweet 16 ? By this point Natasha was very aloof to this whole situation, and didn't no what to do. So, she resignedly took the fact that her mom, 3 sisters and aunt went through all this trouble and hard work to make her happy, so she decicded to set appart her differences and enjoy what was left of her magical day.
1. What does Cherry explain as the difference between the socs and the greasers?
As the difference between the socs and the greasers Cherry explains it as "Greasers have different set values. There also more emotional. Unlike the Socs "We're sophisticated--cool to the point of not feeling anything.
2. What does Ponyboy mean on p. 39 when he says "Johnny and I understood each other without saying anything"? Have you ever had a relationship with someone who you understood, or who understood you, without having to say anything?
What I think Ponyboy meant when he said "Johnny and I understood each other without saying anything" Is that , they way they looked, or were looking at each other said enough which didnt require them to speak, because looks could tell what the other person was saying to one another. From what I can remember Im pretty sure I havent had a relationship with a person without having to say anything, because I like to talk alot so in my case I dont think it would work out. But if I did have a relationship with a person who understood me or I understodd them without having to say anything, im sure we would be really passionate in what we were trying to tell eachother and we would have a deep connection.
3. When and how did Pony's parents die?
Pony's parents died 8 months ago in a terrible cars accident causing thier lives.

When Pony arrives home 2 hours late after his curfew which was suppse to be 12:OOam, but instead he returned home at 2:OOam. Darry totally flips out on him. He was reading the paper, and Pony thinking to himself, "I hope hes fast asleep, so I could maybe sneak in" doesnt work out. The minute Pony walks in the door, Darry drops his paper and begin's to scream at Pony wich cause's Soda to wake up too. As Darry was Yelling and Pony, Soda decides to butt in and stick up for Pony. Which in the end just made Darry twice as mad at the fact that Soda always sticks up for Pony. Then things really got out of hand when Darry Slaps Ponyright in the face smashing him towards the door. The 3 of them were in shock, no one in Pony's family has ever laid a fingure on him. There eyes were widing. Darry trys to appologise, but its too late. Pony is already half way down the block pretending to NOT hear Darry and runs away.
5. Why does Johnny like it better when his father is hitting him?
Johnny explains" I think I like it better when the old mans hittin' me" he tells Pony why he likes it because then he says aleast his father knows who he is. Becasue when he walks out of the house no one says anything to him , and no one really ever notices him .
6. At the end of the chapter, how does the author foreshadow that bad things are to come?
At the end of this chapter the author foreshadows that bad things are going to come by making all the bad things in the story more towards the end and linger on. He doesnt rap up any of the situations that are to come. The author also donest finish the chapter in a possitive way , he ends it negitivley by saying " Things gotta get better, i figured. They couldnt get any worse. I was wrong. Words such as worse or wrong, are clues that give that away for me.
