aacquitted -to relieve from a charge of fault or crime; declare not guilt.
Sentence- I felt very acquitted after I saw the robbery at 5th street bank occuring and I was the prime suspect.
1. Explain why Pony might rather have anyone's hate than their pity (p.162)?
Ponyboy would rather have anyone's hate rather then pity because he would rather look "tuff" rather then look down upon, he knows hes the youngest and probably most weak, but he doesn't let that bother him. That's why he would rather have people rate them rather then have their pity or be babied by them.
2. What do you think is going on with Ponyboy when he says, "Johnny didn't have anyhing to do with Bob's getting killed" (p.166)?
I think when Ponyboy makes his remark about Johnny not having anything to do with Bobs getting killed it has to do with the remorse he felt for him. Now that Johnny was gone, he didn't want people to blame the "dead kid" for the tragic accident. So he thought if he took the blame for it it would, make people forget that Johnny really did it.
