1. How does Pony's dreaming, or lying to himself, finally work in this chapter?
They way Ponyboy's dreaming and lying work out for him in the chapter is the death of Johnny. He keeps telling himself Johnny is still alive which helps him escape the truth, and whats really going on in his life. In this chapter the death of Johnny really hits him, and he cant cope with that, so the more he tells himself hes not dead, the more he starts to believe himself. Ponyboy convinced himself Johnny wasnt dead.
2. Why was Johnny's dying so difficult for Dally to handle?
Johnnys dying was so diffcult for Dally because Johnny was the only thing Dally loved. Now Johnny was gone.
3. Why do you think Dally would have wanted to die?
I think Dally would have wanted to die because he was so upset at the fact the Johnny died. He wanted to be with him no matter where it was or what it took. The only way he could do that was by putting his life in danger which he did. It worked out for him, because he ended up dieing.
