*chapter 7

1. Explain what Pony means when he says Soda "reminds me of a colt" on p. 101.
Ponyboy says Soda reminds him of a colt because he is drawn to excitement and anything that caused that much excitement. A colt is a male horse who has lots of energy and power, and Soda fits this description because he is filled with excitement and energy and joy.

2. What condition is Johnny in after the fire?
Johnny is in critical condition after the fire. His back is broken and he has third-degree burns on his body. He was in severe shock and kept calling for Ponyboy and Dally.

3. Why would being crippled be worse for Johnny than someone else?
Being cripple for Johnny would be worse for him that anyone else because he could never play football again or help his friends in a rumble, or even be part of the gang and still be commited. It would be worse for him because he would have to stay in a house wich he hated, and where he wasn't really wanted. This would be emotionally and mentally harder on Johnny more than physically.

4. "Maybe people are younger when they are asleep" (p.104). what do you think about this comment?
I think this is a true comment and Ponyboy is correct. When we sleep we dream, as if we were young children again, without a care in the world. We are so innocent when we sleep. Free from any trouble or problems. Its not reality. Its an escape from he real world. We don't think in our dreams, we just dream and are innocent. Our minds are free, to wander just like a 3 year old again. A dream is something anyone can have or day, it lets us escape whats real to a whole differetn place filled with sometimes joy & bliss or hatred and terror.

5. What is a juvenile delinquent (p. 107)? Find a definition on the internet, in a dictionary, or create your own based on your own knowledge.
A juvenile delinquent is a person who in a young offender. Someone who had a criminal record and might be in trouble with the law more than once.

6. Why would Two-Bit think Johnny, Dally, and Pony were heroes all along; before they saved the kids?
Two-bit had reason to believe that Dally, Ponyboy and Johnny were heroes all long because they were always heroes. They didn't just "turn" into heroes like that the obviously has to work for it. They killed Bob and in the Greasers eyes that was very courageous. They made an opening for Greasers to put an end to everything once and for all. The main point was he didnt kill Bob for nothing he killed Bob, because he was drowning Ponyboy, and Johnny couldnt bare to take that.

7. What was Bob's 'real' problem, according to Randy (p.116)?
Bobs real problem was he couldn't get anyone to say 'No'. If there was somebody to tell you the truth or correct answer he would have something solid to stand on. If his father belted him once, and kept him in line, instead of spoiled, he might have still been alive. He needed something other than money and time in his life.

8. Why did Pony think it was better to see socs as "just guys" on p. 118? What do you think he means by this?
Its better to see the Socs as just guys instead of Socs because it settles the difference between them and really all the socs are are just "guys". Nobody is better than anyone and they arepretty much the same. They are regular guys just like everyone else, just trying to make it all stop. If they are just guys , you can tell that the other is a human too. Their all the same people on the inside and this makes them equals. This means that they can come to an understanding and stop the fighting.
